Next we visited what must be my favorite town in Alsace -- Colmar. This wonderfully preserved
little town is interlaced with canals reminiscent of Venice and was, in the 16th Century, a major centre of the wine trade.
The houses here somehow seem more authentic and the best way to get the "feel" of this town is to take a boat tour that starts
in the tanner's quarters.
